Administrative Assistant

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIY

The Administrative Assistant performs general administrative support in the Catholic Community of Stratford faith formation efforts.  Reports to the Director of Discipleship.  Part Time – 15 hours per week.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Interacts and communicates with parishioners and appropriately responds to their needs and requests.
  • Provides administrative support to the Director of Discipleship.
  • Schedules meetings.
  • Provides event logistics including organizing events, locations, food, set-up, RSVPS and provides appropriate communications.
  • Prepares reports and documents for the faith formation program.
  • Maintains all records associated with faith formation events.
  • Coordinates sacramental record keeping for all regional programs.
  • Updates ParishSoft with appropriate information.
  • Manage social media accounts for the Stratford Parish Collaboration.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school Diploma and at least two years of related office experience
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, and Excel), Google and Adobe Acrobat
  • Prior experience with ParishSoft preferred
  • Must be flexible and able to work well with fellow employees in a small office setting
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently, keeping tasks and projects running
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Self-motivated with a strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Solid problem solving and time management skills
  • Able to multitask efficiently and effectively
  • Highly organized with sharp attention to detail
  • A strong work ethic and desire to exceed parishioner expectations
  • Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church preferred
  • Bi-lingual in English and Spanish preferred
